Using an Authenticator app helps you sign in to your accounts when you're using two-step verification. Two-step verification helps you to use your accounts more securely because passwords can be forgotten, stolen, or compromised. Two-step verification uses a second step like your phone to make it harder for other people to break in to your account. You can use the Authenticator app in multiple ways:
Two-step verification: The standard verification method, where one of the factors is your password. After you sign in using your username and password, you can enter a provided verification code.
Authenticator works with any account that uses two-factor verification and supports the time-based one-time password (TOTP) standards.
You can download any authenticator app of your choice. The following instructions are for the Microsoft Authenticator.
Download and install the app to your mobile device (recommended). Microsoft Instructions
Log in to CareComplete and go to your profile page.
Select Authenticator App under Security Settings. You will then see a page with a QR code, similar to the following:
Open the app you downloaded previously and add a new account. For the Microsoft Authenticator app select (+) in the upper right corner (it might also be three dots).
For the Microsoft Authenticator you will select "Other account (Google, Facebook, etc.)"
Point your camera at the QR code on CareComplete.
The authenticator app should provide a code. Use that code and enter it on the CareComplete page to confirm that it was successfully added.
Now, when you are prompted for a Two Factor Authentication code you can use your authenticator app.
